Waiting’s End
By
KeithTim Anderson
Written by
Steve Sheppard

A new artist crossed my path today in KeithTim Anderson and because of this meeting of the musical highways, a brand new and really smooth solo piano album now resides in my collection in the guise of this debut solo piano release Waiting’s End.

Anderson is a story teller, a narrator of fine tunes and within this musical voyage you will find boxes of many memories in our attic of tone and arrangements.
One of the hardest seasons of the year to deal with is autumn, the season of mists, of lengthening shadows, of darker moods, all this is beautifully narrated by the track that opens the album entitled Autumn Rain. The sombre and sensitive performance is indeed like watching the sky cry in late October.

The mood drifts away from retrospection and season and now moves gently toward a lighter feeling of gratefulness, in a track called Here With You. I must say I love Anderson’s style, he has a certain warmth of performance, one that especially can be found right here on this offering.

It is already apparent that KeithTim has a talent for creating great melodies and that doesn’t change, listen to this next piece called Hope Again. This is a fascinating composition, very gentle and almost pristine and delicate in its arrangement, one could almost see a small china doll dancing to it. The tones of the performance seem to give out an energy of future hope within its overall mood and construction; this is a delightful piece.

Last Goodbye is now upon us, the mood has now changed to a mournful repose. The hardest thing to do is to say goodbye, especially for the very last time, something I have done too much of recently. One of the hardest things to do is have the courage to put this emotion into music, and for me KeithTim has not only been successful in capturing this feeling, but has drawn the narrative of it so powerfully, it could well be the sound track for those final moments of farewell for everybody.

We are just about to step over the borderlands of the half way marker of the album, but before we do so, the artist wishes to perform a piece called Long Ago for us. There is a little David Lanz about this offering that I adore, the melody and theme is beautiful and one that is steeped in memory, and of good times.
On the track Photographs we have a really haunting offering, we could for example imagine we are in an old dusty family attic and have just found an album of our families past. The mood in this composition is deeply moving; I actually found this piece really emotional to listen to, it is wonderfully composed with the perfect elevation in power as well when needed.

We are now firmly in the latter half of the album and as we wander through this lush green woodland of music, we come across a stunning offering called Remember When. The performance here is so kindly and warm, one could easily see two elderly people talking to each other on the porch, as the late September sun fades, and he leans into her and says Remember When? This is without doubt one of those pieces you just can’t help but like.

During this musical voyage, we have travelled far and wide and now perhaps it’s time to Rest Awhile. This is solo piano at its best, the style of performance here is like an arm going around the shoulder and saying, just sit and rest for a bit, and then we will move on, everything is fine. KeithTim has the power of narration down to a tee, he plays from the heart and it shows.

We are now approaching the last few tracks of the release and in these deep musical waters we find a superbly fluent offering entitled Someday. A composition of hope and expectations perhaps, but performed with such confidence and professionalism it is a pleasure to listen to, it is almost like an anthem in its increasing intensity at times.

Our penultimate offering is called Somewhere Out There; this is a masterful offering one that plays light and dark with its composition, with the minor and major, creating a questioning mood and suggesting an answer maybe out there, somewhere! The performance here is sublime, some of the best solo piano I have heard for a long while, film score in mood as well.

The very last spot has been saved for the title header; yes we are at that blank canvas called the title track, and as such I welcome you all to the last composition from the album, Waiting’s End. Here is a piece that seems to very nicely sum up the whole album, done with such class and style I may add too, the perfect way to end what has been a wonderfully flowing journey of solo piano.

Waiting’s End maybe a debut solo piano release for KeithTim, but by judging this collection of superb solo piano pieces, I would say he has a long musical career ahead of him in the genre. Anderson really plays from the heart, to the heart, and in doing so touches each and every musical soul along the way, this is one album that will move you and enthral you at every turn with each note played, one you should perhaps add to your musical collections as soon as you can.
KeithTim Andersontag:kamsongs.com,2005:Post/56115062019-01-24T22:35:20-06:002022-02-26T01:31:18-06:00Mainly Piano Review of Waiting's End!
This review from Mainly Piano by Kathy Parsons almost made me cry!
Read it below or directly on their website at mainlypiano.com.

Waiting's End, Solo Piano Vol. 1
KeithTim Anderson
2018 / Kamsongs Music
51 minutes

Review by Kathy Parsons

I review a LOT of music, and once in a while an album comes along that I find totally compelling. Usually I can put my finger on what it is that makes me respond to some artists’ music more than others, but sometimes there is simply a mysterious pull that just won’t let go. Waiting’s End, Solo Piano Vol. 1 by KeithTim Anderson is exactly this kind of an album. The music isn’t complicated or showy and it isn’t overly dramatic, but the warmth, hope and sincerity that flow into and out of every note communicate effortlessly and yet so deeply.

While Waiting’s End is KeithTim Anderson’s solo piano debut, it isn’t his first album. Anderson has been a successful songwriter and vocalist for many years and in a variety of professional settings. As so often happens in life, turning his focus to solo piano came about quite unintentionally. In late 2017, he wrote a couple of piano pieces that he liked, but he still had no plans to do a full album of piano solos. Anderson played the piano throughout his career as an accompaniment to his vocals, had a piano minor in college and is the son of a piano teacher, but all he ever really wanted to do is sing. The irony is that he returned to his hometown in Wisconsin to perform a Thanksgiving concert at his parents’ church, but lost his voice due to laryngitis. Instead of singing as he had planned, he played the two piano solos he had recently composed. They were very well-received, so Anderson continued to compose the eleven pieces on this album. That this album is sub-titled “Vol. 1” gives me great hope that there will be more!

It is interesting to note that although the titles of the pieces on Waiting’s End aren’t obviously religious, Anderson’s deep faith runs throughout the music and he included a short Scripture reference with each title on the CD. Here is part of Anderson’s description of the record: “The album has an overall concept of being healing, calming and reflective. Yet in some ways, it is a collection of musical snapshots, each song being distinct from the others, yet cohesive as a whole…. All of it reflects my deep commitment to my faith in God…. I want to acknowledge Him in all that I do, think and create.”

I love all eleven tracks on Waiting’s End, but want to mention a few of the pieces. “Autumn Rain,” the first track, is almost magical. The rain here is gentle but slightly percussive and refreshes whatever it touches. “Last Goodbye” is melancholy and bittersweet, but is so graceful and touching. It is the solo piano arrangement of a song co-written with Heather Field. “Long Ago” expresses a heartfelt sense of longing. “Photographs” is a bit lighter and livelier with feelings of nostalgia. The dreamy and wistful “Someday” looks forward to a better day. My very favorite piece on the album is “Somewhere Out There.” This one grabs me every time! Like “Someday,” it expresses a longing for something not yet within reach - kind of like my feeling about wanting the sheet music for this piece!!! Haunting and deeply emotional, I absolutely love it!

It’s still very early in 2019, but Waiting’s End, Solo Piano Vol. 1 will definitely be a Favorite Album of the year! I give it my highest recommendation and can’t wait for Volume 2!!! It is available from Amazon and iTunes as well as various streaming sites.

KeithTim Anderson – Waiting’s End Album Review

KeithTim Anderson

Waiting’s End, Solo Piano, Vol. 1

Album Review by Dyan Garris for New Age CD & Zone Music Reporter

“Waiting’s End, Solo Piano, Vol. 1” is the debut solo piano album from KeithTim Anderson, but not his first foray into music, by any means. KeithTim’s father was a band instructor and his mother a piano teacher. Music is literally in his blood.

Hailing from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and now residing in Nashville, his degree is an Education Degree in Vocal Music with a minor in piano.

He’s had several of his songs recorded by The Continental Singers, Integrity Music and Truth, as well as having some songs recorded by Brentwood Music and Lifeway.

At a young age, he aspired to be a singer, and accomplished that goal, singing in choirs, churches, schools, universities, community musicals, coffee houses, festivals and more. He also took an interest in piano and started composing his own songs. If you get a chance, it’s definitely worth checking out his album, “Refuge,” where you will greatly enjoy this man’s beautiful voice.

KeithTim’s music is inspired by his deep faith in God and each song title on this solo piano debut album, “Waiting’s End,” is related to a Scripture from the Bible. Hold on there, New-Agers, before you run away screaming. There’s a good story here.

Once upon a time, KeithTim was scheduled to perform in a church concert, but he contracted laryngitis, so could not sing. Instead of canceling, he played two piano pieces instead. The response was so great that he set aside his then current vocal projects to focus instead on a solo piano album. One day, a friend set one of his songs to some words in the Bible, and this so excited KeithTim to be able to express his love of God through his music. He says, “My life was changed forever, and I was on the path God had for me as a singer/song-writer.”

See? Good story, right? God does indeed work in mysterious ways.

All eleven tracks on this fifty-minute solo piano debut album, “Waiting’s End, Solo Piano, Vol. 1,” are heartfelt and beautiful, restorative, healing and calming. There is nothing preachy or remotely pretentious here. There is, however, something special about this music that draws you gently into the peace. And there you will want to stay. “Waiting’s End” is like an abundantly flowing river of smooth, richly flavorful, sweet honey.

The album opens with the very pleasant “Autumn Rain,” which perfectly expresses such, starting off softly, slowly, and getting a little faster and deeper as it goes. There is something deeply engaging about “Here With You,” which follows. It’s got a great melody and is quite soothing and relaxing. It’s also emotional without being overly so. Inspiring. “Last Goodbye,” a co-write with Australian songwriter, Heather Field, is tender and somber. I imagine this could represent the last goodbye of Jesus to the Disciples. It feels bittersweet and deep. Love it.

“Long Ago” is really pretty, with a mind and soul-sticking, graceful, gentle melody. It’s a favorite. “Someday” has got a lullaby quality to it, as well as being expansive and radiating a feeling of tranquility and universal love at the same time. This is another favorite on this album. “Somewhere Out There” evokes feelings of hope, faith, and belonging.

The album closes out aptly with the title track, “Waiting’s End.” This is quite beautiful, lush, and very deeply calming. It’s one to listen to again and again. It feels like a velvety ribbon caressing your soul. Wonderful ending. I am restored. You will be too.

KEITHTIM ANDERSON, Waiting's End, Solo Piano Vol. 1
January 2, 2019
Jonathan Widran

As you listen to “Waiting’s End,” the gently contemplative, soul enveloping closing title track to KeithTim Anderson’s full length debut album, you might wonder what that title means personally to the multi-talented composer and solo pianist. He offers a small spiritual clue by assigning (as he does with all of the tracks on this thoughtful collection) a favorite Scripture to it: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psalm 30:5b). That joy is the culmination of a fascinating lifelong musical journey, which also marks a fresh new beginning for the artist.

Growing up in a small town outside of Eau Claire, WI, the pianist/composer/vocalist, the son of a father who was a junior high band instructor and a mother who taught piano, remembers only ever wanting to do one thing – sing! While developing these skills via a local boys’ choir, school bands and choirs, musicals and special church groups, he also took private piano lessons. Often, when he made a mistake while practicing, he would start experimenting with writing his own tunes. He enjoyed this improvised composing so much that he soon spent more time creating original compositions than practicing his actual lessons. Over time, he also began setting Scripture to music and wrote songs with lyrics by others as well as his own.

After many years as a successful songwriter and vocalist in a variety of dynamic professional settings, Anderson has returned to the emotional purity of fashioning deeply meaningful, heartfelt piano compositions. From start to finish, Waiting’s End flows with uncommon sensitivity and grace, taking us on a compelling journey of deep soul expression, full of reflection and longing, from vulnerability and melancholy to an ultimate, life and spirit affirming testament of hope.

While the Nashville based Anderson hopes that every listener can find a personal connection to these songs based on their own life experience, for him, the music, like everything in his life, is grounded in his deep faith. On a previous vocal album called Refuge, he created songs of Scripture and hymn lyrics set to original music. In the packaging of Waiting’s End, he intuitively connects each song thematically to a Scripture related to its title, i.e. “Autumn Rain” with “He gives the autumn rain to show His faithfulness (Joel 2:23b) and “Long Ago” with Genesis 1:1 (“In the beginning…”). Yet one doesn’t have to share his specific spiritual path to feel the soothing, mystical energy of his divinely infused expression. Such is the power of instrumental music; we can attune our ears and spirits to what we hear by digging deep and discovering points of connection from our own life experiences.

Anderson takes the willing among us on a deeply penetrating sojourn through a multitude of moods, from the meditative healing baptism of the opening track “Autumn Rain” (“He gives the autumn rain to show his faithfulness,” Joel 2:23b) to the hopeful, subtle optimism of “Hope Again” (“I remember his mercies and I have hope again,” Lamentations 3 21-24) and on to the bittersweet melancholy of “Last Goodbye.” Along the trails of the heart that he lightly treads, he offers moments of healing reflection (“Rest Awhile”), an encouraging way forward through dark times (“Someday”) and the hope of eternal glory (“Somewhere Out There”).

The pianist offers a few words of insight to help us understand his mindset and gratitude as a composer and performer: “The album has an overall concept of being healing, calming and reflective music. “Yet in some ways, it is a collection of musical snapshots, each song being distinct from the others, yet cohesive as a whole. One person said that they really appreciate the fact that there aren't songs that stick out as being too loud or vastly different in nature. All of it reflects my deep commitment to my faith in God. The reason I can create music at all is because He has gifted me in such a way as to be able to do it. So, I want to acknowledge Him in all that I do, think and create.”
KeithTim Andersontag:kamsongs.com,2005:Post/55871272019-01-08T19:34:38-06:002019-01-08T19:55:35-06:00New Age Music Guide Review of Waiting's End Album
Here's the second review of my new solo piano album, Waiting's End, from New Age Music!
Click the photo or the link to below to read the review on their website.

Waiting’s End is the debut solo piano album from singer/songwriter KeithTim Anderson, written after he lost his voice in late 2017, and wanted to keep his creativity flowing. After his voice returned, he felt the need to keep composing on the piano. Consisting of 11 tracks of beautiful, peaceful and deeply restful music, each track on Waiting’s End is distinct in itself in melodic style and its insistent calm. Listeners have referred to Anderson’s music as intriguing, peaceful and inspiring.

Emotionally charged solo piano KeithTim Anderson – WAITING’S END: This is my first exposure to KeithTim’s excellent solo piano; each song is jam-packed with a full range of emotions, and will bring emotions back to the surface that you’d thought long gone. One of the best examples of his skill is the beautiful 5:52 “Hope Again“… I especially love the way he uses the upper registers to “brighten” the song, and his pacing is just excellent on this piece – you’ll find yourself listening to it over and over again, I’ve no doubt.

Though it’s not from this album [actually, it's been renamed to "Somewhere Out There"], you’ll find KeithTim’s video of his song “Starlight” quite enchanting…

…be sure to SUBSCRIBE to his YouTube channel, as I’m sure during 2019 that he will be posting many more live videos there in the coming months…

KeithTim says that he’s “mainly been a singer/songwriter, but recently, I’ve gone back to my roots of composing solo piano music“… his talent for “roots music” is clearly evident on the 5:24 opener, “Autumn Rain“… you’ll find yourself wandering down brisk pathways with leaves floating down as you remember seasons that have been good to you… I can easily see this piece being nominated for (and WINNING) solo piano awards!

It won’t be difficult to picture tucking your kids in to the lullaby-like strains of “Rest Awhile“… a perfect piece of music for igniting dreams of fairy-dust and peaceful slumber… again, KeithTim’s pacing draws the magic forth in full glory.

It was truly easy to pick my personal favorite of the eleven songs KeithTim offers up for your aural pleasure… “Long Ago” takes the listener gently through memoryland, and weaves wonderment through inspiring music, to be sure… I believe we should be playing music like this in all of our children’s classrooms… we would be living in a much more peaceful world if we did that!

I give KeithTim a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for this excellent solo piano debut CD, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.98… get more information about this highly talented artist on the KeithTim website. Rotcod Zzaj
